As most Floridians know, our schools are in a desperate financial situation. Our elected officials in
Tallahassee have cut funding for our children’s educations because of the state of the economy which
has impacted state revenue. Now Governor Crist believes federal “stimulus” money is the answer.
Beyond the fact that the stimulus dollars will not be enough to accommodate all of the school districts'
budgets, Tallahassee and Gov. Crist have now put Florida on federal welfare. It is embarrassing to me
that our state officials cannot perform their fundamental task of creating and sustaining a reasonable
budget. Our children’s educations were already below the expectations of parents and teachers alike,
now even that level of education is in jeopardy. Together we must act to make sure this crisis is resolved,
not just for today, but permanently. Below are links to information on the school funding crisis and to our
representatives in Tallahassee.
